Welcome to the Human Library

The Human Library® is quite literally a library made up of people. Through our events, readers can “borrow” human books and engage in conversations they might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience. Each human book represents a group in society that is frequently affected by prejudice, stigmatization, or discrimination due to factors such as lifestyle, diagnosis, beliefs, disabilities, social status, or ethnic background.

Become an Open Book in the Human Library

Do you challenge stereotypes? Are you open, reflective, and willing to share experiences that others can learn from? If you are motivated to help break down stigma through dialogue and meaningful conversations, you may be a great fit as an Open Book in the Human Library.

Volunteering with the Human Library is often more impactful than expected—and an experience many describe as truly unforgettable. It offers a unique opportunity to connect with people who may seem very different from you, only to discover how much you actually have in common.

If this sounds interesting, we invite you to complete the application form as thoroughly as possible. Once your application has been reviewed, we will get in touch with you.
